New SEE Grading System Update
National Examination Board has published the new grading system for SEE Exam. Which will be implemented with the implementation of the new curriculum according to curriculum framework 2075. In the new provision of SEE grading, NEB has removed the last grade which was E. 30% in the written exam is a must according to the new see grading system and for below 35%, NEB will not issue the grade sheet/ main certificate which is crucial for promotion to upper grade.
Marks Range | Grade | Grade Point |
91-100 | A+ | 3.6 - 4 |
81-90 | A | 3.2 - 3.6 |
71-80 | B+ | 2.8 - 3.2 |
61-70 | B | 2.6 - 2.8 |
51-60 | C+ | 2.2 - 2.6 |
31-40 | C | 1.6-2.2 |
35 - 40 | D+ | 1.6 > NG |
Previously students were able to get the certificate even if their grades were very low with E grades. Which was considered insufficient. But now the students obtaining less than 35 per cent in written exam will not get any certificate. There are certain provisions for re-exam if the student couldn’t succeed to obtain 35 per cent in max two subjects they can give re-exams for upgrading. If they could not succeed in three attempts they have to repeat the class and are supposed to give all subject exams again.
Previously the result of SEE used to be published in Percentage but since 2016 A.D. Examination Controller Division has introduced the letter grading system for the SEE Result. The SEE Result comes out in the form of GPA (Grade Point Average), with the highest GPA being 4.00. The GPA is based on the percentage of each of the subjects (Average of Theory and Practical Marks). The Grading system has been introduced in order to motivate students so they don’t get a “failed” grade like in the percentage system of scores.
Below is the comparison chart which will make you clear about the New SEE Grading System according to 2077 updates and GPA of SEE result:
