Spanish dramatists Serafin lvarez Quintero (1871-1938) and Joaquin Alvarez Quintero (1873-1944). They grew up in Utrera, a small town near Seville in the Spanish region of Andalusia. They started writing for the theatre at a very young age. They were known as the "Golden Boys" of the Madrid theatre. They worked together on nearly 200 dramas depicting Andalusia's life, manners, and speech. Gilito, their first stage piece, was written in 1889.
