How to Make English Questions of Basic Level  The National Examinations Board (NEB) is developing standardised tests for grades 8, 10 and 12. In the case of grade 8, NEB is developing items for three subjects at present – Science and Technology, Mathematics and English. This handbook of English Subjects provides the item writers and teachers a framework for developing good test items and making the Basic Level Examination (BLE) standardized, more reliable, valid and comparable across the Local Governments gradually. Item development is the first step in the development of standardised tests based on the ‘framework for grade 8 standardised tests’ of NEB approved by MoEST. The framework elaborates curriculum and specification grid (CDC, 2021) and items are developed accordingly.
